PREECLAMPSIA

This is a common condition of pregnancy in women in Colombia. Preeclampsia is a disease of pregnancy characterized by increased blood pressure after the fifth month of gestation and swelling of the body.It affects between 5 and 10 of pregnant women worldwide and is one of the leading causes of maternal and child mortality. In Latin America and the Caribbean, for example, 1 in 5 pregnant women die due to pregnancy-induced hypertension.
